Employee injured in shooting at Southfield Chipotle

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) A shooting at a Chipotle in Southfield left an employee injured.

Southfield Police said they responded to the Chipotle on Evergreen near Civic Center Drive for shots fired around 6:50 p.m. Friday (4/5). Officers found the victim, 21, with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The victim is a Chipotle employee and a resident of Detroit, police said. He was taken to the hospital, and his injuries are considered “non-life threatening.” He is listed in stable condition.

The suspect, 32 of Detroit, fled the scene, and Southfield Police said they later arrested him “without incident.”

Police have not said if there’s any connection between the suspect and victim, or commented on a motive. They say the investigation is “ongoing and more information will be released as it becomes available.”
