ROYAL OAK (WWJ) -- A 35-year-old Clinton Township woman is no stranger to the legal system and now stands accused of ethnic intimidation and property destruction for allegedly defacing a Royal Oak synagogue with anti-Semitic graffiti.
On Wednesday, Randi Lucille Nord was formally charged and arraigned. The judge set bail at $75,000 and prohibited Nord from having any contact with the Woodward Shul or Rabbi Mendel Polter.
If convicted, Nord faces up to two years in prison and potential fines of up to five-thousand dollars.
Officials say the defendant already has multiple criminal convictions, including assault and battery, fourth-degree fleeing and eluding and operating while intoxicated.
Nord was arrested Monday following an investigation into an incident of vandalism at the Woodward Shul. A passerby reported spray paint on an external wall, including a swastika and the word "AZOV," which means "leave" in Hebrew.
Local and federal law enforcement agencies reviewed security footage and asked for public help in identifying a suspect.
Nord's next court date has not yet been determined.
