(WWJ) Michigan's wildly popular county music festival Faster Horses won't be happening this year.

In a surprise announcement Friday, organizers said that Faster Horses — which is typically held at the Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn in the rural Jackson area every summer — would be put on "pause" in 2025.

A social media message shared at 5 p.m. on Jan. 31, also posted on the festival's official website, reads as follows:

"Dear Fans –

We have made the decision to pause Faster Horses Festival in 2025.

We are taking the year to make plans for a bigger and better Faster Horses for our fans who deserve the absolute best.

We love our friends at Michigan International Speedway, the community, and all of those all those behind the scenes. While we hope to bring you something in the future, for now we encourage you to keep the community strong and support live music in Michigan!"

It's unclear when, and exactly why, the decision was made not to hold the event. As recently as Friday afternoon, information on the Faster Horses website was that details on the 2025 festival were "coming soon."
