SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) -- There was a significant police presence in Southfield — including federal law enforcement — for a Monday morning raid at a condominium complex.
The FBI, Southfield Police and Michigan State Police were on scene at the Willow Pond Condos at 9 Mile Rd. and Lasher.
"They are conducting what appears to be a raid, focusing in on one condominium," WWJ Newsradio 950's Charlie Langton reported from the scene, at 8:30 a.m. "They do not have the area roped off, and they indicate that there is no danger to the community."
"The media, we were just told to move back a little bit, because now they're going to begin searching some parked vehicles in the condos' driveway. The FBI, however, won't say what they're looking for."
An FBI spokesperson confirmed to WWJ that they are conducting "law enforcement activities," but would not share any details.
Michigan State Police said only that they were there to assisted the FBI.
There have been no word of any arrests.
