Michigan Republicans were handed another loss Monday morning in their bid to have Michigan's election results overturned. This time the judge said, "the people have spoken."

This is the latest defeat by those challenging the election. In fact, no case filed by any Trump supporter or the campaign itself has gained any traction.

The latest decision in federal court found, "Plaintiffs fail to show that a favorable decision from the Court would redress their alleged injury. Moreover, granting Plaintiffs’ injunctive relief would greatly harm the public interest. As Defendants aptly describe, Plaintiffs’ requested injunction would “upend the statutory process for election certification and the selection of Presidential Electors. Moreover, it w[ould] disenfranchise millions of Michigan voters in favor [of] the preferences of a handful of people who [are] disappointed with the official results.”

In short, none of the remaining factors weigh in favor of granting Plaintiffs’ request for an injunction, the court said.

The suit was filed on Nov. 25 by six Michigan Republicans, represented by conservative attorney Sidney Powell, who asked for "emergency relief," including a court order requiring Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to sign off on certified election results that state "President Donald Trump is the winner of the election."

The basis for that is unknown, but the Detroit News reports that Powell is a Trump supporter who has previously appeared with his legal team and is filing similar challenges in multiple states. "Her suits have relied heavily on conspiracy theories and debunked claims on voter fraud," the News reported.

And the judge went even further, writing, "for these reasons, the Court finds that Plaintiffs are far from likely to succeed in this matter. In fact, this lawsuit seems to be less about achieving the relief Plaintiffs seek—as much of that relief is beyond the power of this Court— and more about the impact of their allegations on People’s faith in the democratic process and their trust in our government. Plaintiffs ask this Court to ignore the orderly statutory scheme established to challenge elections and to ignore the will of millions of voters. This, the Court cannot, and will not, do.

"The People have spoken."
