(WWJ) -- FEMA has extended the September 13 deadline for individual disaster assistance in metro Detroit.
Residents in Wayne and Washtenaw counties affected by the severe storms and floods that took place in late June will now have through October 13 to register for aid.
FEMA assistance can include grants for temporary housing, personal property loss, or emergency home repairs not covered by insurance.
In-person assistance remains available at FEMA centers in southeastern Michigan and online at DisasterAssistance.gov or through the mobile app.
