
ADRIAN (WWJ) - A fire significantly damaged several historic buildings in Adrian on Saturday.
Officials said the buildings at 117, 119, 121 and 123 West Maumee Street suffered significant fire, water and smoke damage. 115 West Maumee Street has potential smoke damage.
There were no injuries to either the public or firefighters who responded to the scene.
Firefighters from Adrian, Adrian Twp., Britton/Ridgeway Twp., Tecumseh, Madison Twp., Blissfield, Morenci, Sand Lake, Deerfield, Palmyra, Raisin Twp., Addison, Bedford, Manchester and Lyons, Ohio all responded to the fire as it swept through the buildings.
Three businesses and five residents were affected, according to a Facebook post from the City of Adrian.
The Downtown Adrian Main Street Board is expected to announce a relief effort on Monday.
