CHESTERFIELD TWP. (WWJ) -- One person is hospitalized after a devastating house fire in northern Macomb County on Wednesday.
A photo shared by the Chesterfield Fire Department shows one-story house in 48000 block of Donner Rd., in the area of Cotton Rd. and I-94, was gutted by the flames.
Fire officials said the fire broke out Wednesday morning, but there's no information at this time about the cause.
Local fire departments responded, and one person was taken from the scene by ambulance for treatment of smoke inhalation and burns. Their condition is unknown at this time.
There were no reports that anyone else was hurt.
Firefighters remained on the scene as of 10 a.m., continuing to work on the fire.
Officials said they expected to release more information later in the day.
