Firefighter falls through roof while fighting flames at abandoned home on Detroit's east side

DETROIT (WWJ) -- A Detroit Firefighter was taken to a hospital Thursday morning, after falling though the roof of an abandoned home.

Reporting from the scene, WWJ Newsradio 950's Charlie Langton fire broke out early in the morning of Oct. 2, on Chalmers and Corbett, on the city's east side.

The home was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived, but the fire since been put out.

Arson investigators will look into the cause of the fire, which is protocol.

Officials said one firefighter suffered minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
