MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. (WWJ) -- Macomb County is set to host its first ever pride festival next weekend, as Macomb County Pride will put on “Fall Into Pride” Oct. 15-17.
The LGBTQ+ community is set together downtown Mount Clemens Friday through Sunday, for an event that organizers describe as “inclusive” and “filled with good vibes.” The event is “an effort to create a more welcoming environment for the LGBT+ community in the county.”
Festivities will kick off with a Pride pub crawl Friday night, while the rest of the weekend will feature a family-friendly street fair from noon to 6:30 p.m., with vendors, drag queen story time and a number of live musical performances.
The weekend will wrap up Sunday drag brunch at Gumbos from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with tickets available online.
The festival's organizers had initially hoped to hold it in 2020, but it had to be postponed due to the pandemic. Organizers say COVID-19 vaccinations will also be available during the festival.
