DETROIT (WWJ) -- Wayne State University is moving all classes online this week due to flooding around the metro area.
According to a statement from the university, many students and staff are experiencing difficulties from the flooding. The campus was also hit hard, with many buildings sustaining significant damage.
Some buildings are closed, but the university is open and will continue operating, primarily virtually, as it did for the past year during the pandemic.
Classes intended to be held in-person on WSU’s campus will move to remote instruction for this week only as clean-up efforts continue.
Staff who do not need to be on campus are being asked to work remotely as well. Essential workers are still expected to report to campus, including WSUPD, building engineers, facilities personnel and housing personnel.
