DETROIT (WWJ) – As the Detroit Lions look to begin a new era of success and leave behind the "Same Old Lions" moniker the franchise is leaving behind its slit-film turf, which has been cause for controversy in the NFL this year.
The Lions are set to install new monofilament turf, a move aimed at protecting players from turf-related injuries.
