ROSEVILLE (WWJ) -- A Roseville man who was formerly the assistant principal of a Detroit school is sentenced for criminal sexual conduct involving a minor.

Jerome Younger, 55, was sentenced to 42 to 250 months in prison after pleading no contest to one count of first degree criminal sexual conduct.

The charge stemmed from an alleged assault in October of 2025 involving a minor victim.

Younger previously worked as the assistant principal of Edward 'Duke' Ellington Conservatory of Music and Art at Beckham Academy, a PK-8 school specializing in performing arts.

Younger was ordered to not have contact with the victim or anyone under the age of 17. He will also need to comply with post-release terms, including sex offender registration, lifetime electronic monitoring, and HIV testing.

“I commend the victim for having the bravery to come forward. Such action takes great courage. My office will continue to fight for victims and pursue justice on their behalf,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Pete Lucido, in a statement.

It's unclear whether the victim was a student. Further details were not released.
