MT. CLEMENS (WWJ) – Two former Macomb County morgue employees have been charged after they allegedly stole drugs from the medical examiner’s office.
The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office says 32-year-old Jocelyn Fetting was stealing drugs from the Macomb County Medical Examiner’s Office with intent to sell them.
She has been charged with conspiracy with intent to deliver, delivery of suboxone, delivery of adderall and larceny of a building. The larceny charge carries a penalty of up to four years in prison, while the other charges are 7-year felonies.
Jacob Kettlewell is also accused of taking “an occasional pill” from the office and consuming it. He’s being charged with one count of misdemeanor larceny and misdemeanor use of a controlled substance.”
Both Fetting and Kettlewell were arraigned Wednesday in 41B District Court and each received $5,000 personal bonds.
Both are scheduled to appear in court on May 9.
County officials announced in December the morgue employees had been fired after they were caught stealing drugs from the office's evidence room, according to a report from the Detroit Free Press.
