MACON TWP. (WWJ) – Michigan State Police on Tuesday released more details about the Labor Day crash in rural Lenawee County that left four people dead and the at-fault driver hospitalized.

MSP officials say it happened around 10:30 a.m. on Milwaukee Road near Britton Highway in Macon Township – about 25 miles south of Ann Arbor.

In an update Tuesday, authorities said the four victims, all men ages 18-35, were all riding in a Ford F-150 on Britton when they were hit by a Ford F-250. It was not immediately clear whether the at-fault driver, a 55-year-old man, ran a stop sign.

Authorities were alerted to the crash by one of the truck's on-board accident notification systems.

The at-fault driver remains hospitalized in Ann Arbor with life-threatening injuries, officials said. None of the victims' names or hometowns have been released.

MSP investigators were assisted by the Lenawee County Sheriff's Department, Ridgeway Fire Department, Raisin Township Fire Department, Lenawee Community Ambulance, and the Lenawee County Medical Examiner's Office.

MSP officials are asking anyone who may have additional information on the crash to call Trooper Tyler Gillig at 734-242-3500.
