ECORSE (WWJ)- An apartment complex in Ecorse has seen its fourth shooting on or near its property in the past week.

ClickonDetroit reports that a young father, 27, was shot ten times Saturday night and killed at the Renaissance Estates of Ecorse on Hyacinth Street, in the area of Jefferson Avenue and Vinegar Drive.

The victim’s family identified him as Ladonte Brooks-Rivers, but police have yet to confirm his name.

A motive for the shooting, and the suspect, are both unknown at this point.

On Thursday; a six-year-old girl was an innocent bystander to a shootout at a River Rouge apartment complex less than a mile away from the Renaissance Estates, police said. She was grazed by a bullet.

No information has been released on the other shootings.

At least 10% of the 200 units at Renaissance Estates have bullet holes in them, according to ClickonDetroit.

Residents of the complex spoke to WDIV-- saying they’re afraid to raise their children there because of the prevalence of gun violence.

WWJ has reached out to Ecorse Police to see if they plan on stepping up patrols in the area and to get more information. They have yet to respond.
