FRANKLIN (WWJ) -- A case of stranger danger is under investigation in the Village of Franklin in Oakland County.

According to officials with the Franklin-Bingham Farms Police Department, at around 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 28, an 8-year-old girl was riding her bike in the area of Franklin Park Drive and Mountainview, when a stranger approached driving a black truck or SUV.

The child reported the man asked, "Do you want candy or cupcakes?", to which she replied: "No, I don't know you!"

The child then rode away from the vehicle, the man left, and police were alerted.

The girl was not harmed.

The suspicious person was described as a middle-aged Hispanic male with dark complexion, facial hair, tattoos on his face and arms, wearing a mask, according to police.

On Wednesday, police said this remains an active investigation.

Anyone who may have seen this person, or who has any additional information, is asked to call Det. Sgt. Justin Wells at the Franklin-Bingham Farms PD at 248-626-9672.
