(WWJ) -- Those sky-high gas prices may be coming down over the next few weeks.

Gas Buddy Petroleum analyst Patrick Dehaan predicts that prices could fall to a national average of $4.75 a gallon by July 4, if nothing changes. The current national average for a gallon regular unleaded is $5.

As for Michigan averages, AAA says people are paying an average of $5.19 a gallon, which is down a penny from Thursday's average and down three cents from a week ago.

A year ago today, we were paying $3.15 a gallon.
