Grand Ledge man caught speeding 125 mph in Ford Mustang; 'not safe for anyone' MSP says

EATON RAPIDS (WWJ) -- An Eaton County man was pulled over by police, Thursday evening, after it's alleged he was caught driving at dangerous speeds in a Ford Mustang.

Just before 7 p.m. on April 25, Michigan State Police say a trooper with the Lansing Post spotted the driver driving recklessly in a parking lot in Eaton Rapids Twp., which is southwest of Lansing.

MSP said the 2003 Mustang then sped off on Michigan Road, near Bunker Hwy., reaching a maximum speed of 125 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone.

The trooper made a traffic stop. and the driver — identified as a 24-year-old man from Grand Ledge — was issued citations for Reckless Driving and Speeding 125 in a 55 mph zone.

"Speeds that fast are not safe for anyone," the MSP First District said in a social media post on Friday; also sharing a copy of the ticket.

No injuries were reported.
