GROSSE POINTE WOODS (WWJ) -- Police are on the search for a pair of English Bulldogs taken in Wayne County.

The puppies were reportedly taken from the front yard of a home on the 2000 block of Stanhope Street, near Mack Ave in Grosse Pointe Woods last Friday, Feb. 4, at approximately 3:15 p.m.

According to a witness and confirmed by police, a woman driving a dark-colored, older model SUV was seen taking the six-month-old puppies.

The woman approached the witness and told her that she knew who the owners were. She then put the dogs into her vehicle and drove off.

One puppy is a female described as tan in color with white markings. The other is a male described as tri-color with an eye condition known as "cherry eye," which is when the third eyelid gland pops out.

Anyone with information is asked to call Grosse Pointe Woods Police at 313-343-2410.
