Incident between family members erupts into gunfire at Dearborn Manor Banquet

DEARBORN (WWJ) - One person was arrested Friday evening after police say they open fired during a family incident at a Dearborn banquet hall.

The Dearborn Police Department said no one was hurt and the suspect fired shots into the air following an "isolated incident between family members."

Officers were called out to the scene around 7:14 p.m. on Oct. 13 after receiving reports of gunfire at a family event being held at Dearborn Manor Banquet off Oakman Blvd. just north of Michigan Ave.

When police arrived, they immediately arrested an individual who allegedly brought a firearm to the event and fired off the shots.

Investigators determined there was no threat to the public.

An investigation into the shooting remains ongoing. No further details were released by the department.
