
HILLSDALE CO. (WWJ) -- Two people are in custody facing numerous felony charges following a methamphetamine bust last week in Hillsdale County.
According to Michigan State Police, on Thursday, April 7, detectives with the MSP Region of Irish Hills Narcotics Office (RHINO) executed a search warrant in the 9800 block of Cranberry Lake Rd.
The MSP Emergency Support Team, a special operations unit, conducted the initial entry into the house and secured the property, police said.
While serving the warrant, detectives found and seized an undisclosed quantity of meth, as well as several pistols, according to MSP.
Two suspects who were identified and arrested while leaving the location are expected to face charges by the Hillsdale County Prosecutor’s Office, including possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, and possession of a stolen firearm, all of them felonies.
The RHINO Unit was assisted by members of the Jackson Narcotics Enforcement Team, Troopers from the Michigan State Police-Jackson Post, Michigan State Police K-9 unit, and the MSP Emergency Support Team. The investigation is ongoing.
Police released a photo of the recovered firearms along with the message: "This drug house is closed for business."
"We would like to thank the community and our law enforcement colleagues for their support," MSP added, in a news release.
