HARPER WOODS (WWJ) -- A police manhunt is ongoing in Harper Woods, after someone fired shots at an undercover Wayne County Sheriff’s deputy.
The shooting happened Tuesday morning, along I-94 near Vernier.

Police said they were attempting to make contact with the driver of a vehicle when that person shot at them.
A chase followed, leading officers into a neighborhood near Peerless and Damon streets.
The Harper Woods Police Department asked residents and drivers to stay away from the area of Peerless and Damman, where WWJ's Jon Hewett reports law enforcement officers were out in force searching for the suspects.
This included the WCSO, Harper Woods Police, and Michigan State Police.
No officers were hurt.
Later in the afternoon, police said person was in custody, but investigators were still searching for two other suspects.
"They need to understand that we will find them, we are looking for them, and we don't stop until we find them," Sheriff Raphael Washington said. "One of our officers was shot at, and could've died. We don't take that lightly at all, so we will be out there until we get them in custody."
The eastbound side of I-94 was closed at Moross for several hours following the shooting, but has since reopened.
