HARRISON TWP. (WWJ) -- Several people were injured in a boat explosion and fire, Thursday afternoon Harrison Township.
According to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office, it happened at the gas pumps at Tow Boat USA on South River Road, a little after 1 p.m. That's near Roy's Marina, on Lake St. Clair.
Multiple agencies joined the Macomb County Sheriff's Office to respond quickly to the scene, finding several injured people on the scene.
Photos shared to social media show the damaged boat, which ended up half underwater.
The MCSO said at least three people were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
Officials said there is no indication of foul play at this time, but the investigation into the cause of the explosion is ongoing.
The sheriff's office added, in a statement: "The Macomb County Sheriff's Office extends its gratitude to the dock hands and Tow Boat USA employees who acted quickly to assist passengers off the vessel and away from the scene."
