(WWJ) A GoFundMe has been set up to help a healing father after he was hit by a truck's trailer last week in Macomb County's Chesterfield Township.
According to a friend who posted the fundraiser, "Jesse" was helping someone stranded in a SUV at 26 Mile Rd. and County Line Rd. when he was hit by the trailer, breaking his arm and pelvic area.
He was flung across the road as his wife and daughter witnessed it all.
The funds raised will help cover his medical expenses, physical therapy, and support his family while he's not able to work. His rehab is expected to keep him away from work until August-September.
"He’s a husband and father, the single source of income for his family. At the time I am typing this, he has already had two trauma surgeries," reads a message on the GoFundMe page.
"Every consideration and donation will help Jesse as he faces this huge fight ahead. Your support will make a real difference in his journey to recovery and in helping his family through this challenging time. Jesse had been my best friend for 30 years and I believe anything that can done will be a huge blessing to his family. Who, are crushed after witnessing this horror to their husband/father right in front of them. The emotion trauma will last WELL after the physical. Please consider helping this man who always, always, gives of himself."
The GoFundMe goal was set at $16,000.
