High school in South Lyon releases students early as officers investigate message written in girls' bathroom

Students at South Lyon East High School were placed on lockdown Thursday morning after school officials were made aware of a message what was written in a bathroom.

SOUTH LYON (WWJ) - Students at South Lyon East High School were placed on lockdown Thursday morning after school officials were made aware of a message that was written in a bathroom.

In an email to parents, officials said students were being released early this hour after police had arrived at the high school located at 10 Mile and Johns Road in Oakland County.

Police and school staff are currently investigating a message that was found in a girls' bathroom at the school.

Authorities did not release the contents of the message and no other information has been made public at this time.
