Hit-and-run crash on Detroit's east side kills one, injures three: police

DETROIT (WWJ) Detroit Police are searching for a suspect in a deadly hit-and-run crash on Detroit's east side.

Detroit Police said it happened in the area of Chalmers and Seymour on Saturday, October 4, around 6:26 p.m.

Authorities told WWJ the at-fault vehicle was speeding and blew through a red light, striking two other vehicles. A woman, who was a passenger in one of those cars, died. EMS workers pronounced her dead at the scene.

Three adults had "non-life-threatening" injuries from the crash, police said.

Police did not release a description of the suspect. The victim's name was also not released.
