
DETROIT (WWJ) - A Detroit homeowner had one unusual and surprising start to Wednesday morning after walking outside and finding a dead body up against his home.
The Detroit Police Department confirmed to WWJ that they received a call around 7:20 a.m. on Aug. 16 from a neighbor informing them that he had discovered a dead body along his house off Warwick Street on the city's northwest side.
Officers, along with EMS personnel, were dispatched to the area and located the body of a man with apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on scene by medics.
At this time, it isn't clear when the man was shot and police said they are unsure where the incident happened, if it was in the immediate area or if man's body was dumped.
Detectives are continuing to investigate and have asked anyone with any information to come forward.
