DETROIT (WWJ) -- Five months after human remains were reported in a burned out home in Detroit, DNA testing determined that the body is that of a well-known Detroit barber who went missing in late July.

As reported by WDIV, David Woodger was reported missing on July 26, 2022. The 46-year-old family man owned D-Woods, a barbershop on 7 Mile between Ryan Rd and Mound in Detroit.

Through a relative, WDIV learned that Woodger was last seen leaving his shop with a trusted client who was giving him a ride home.

Less than a week later, on August 1, Detroit Police responded to a tip and discovered human remains in a burned out house on Goddard St.

On Saturday, DPD confirmed to WDIV that testing showed DNA from the remains matched that of Woodger.

DPD is continuing their investigation into the barber's suspicious disappearance and death.
