LENAWEE COUNTY (WWJ) - One man is dead after deputies say he was shot by family member in a hunting incident on the last day of deer firearm season on Thursday in Lenawee County.

Lenawee County Sheriff Troy Bevier confirmed the victim, 41-year-old Kirt Stubbins from Addison, died at the scene after the shooting occurred around 9:45 a.m. in the 15000 block of Rome Road in Rollin Township on Thursday, Nov. 30.

"The other person involved in the shooting is related to the victim," a press release from the sheriff's office stated. "However because they are a juvenile, no further information will be released."

Deputies immediately responded along with emergency medical personnel. Nearly two hours later, a number of police vehicles remained at the location.

An investigation into the circumstances that led to the fatal shooting is ongoing with assistance from the Addison Fire Department and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
