INKSTER (WWJ) - Police are searching for a man who allegedly shot his girlfriend during an argument Saturday night.
Authorities say 37-year-old Andre Levell-Freeman Williams. Jr. could still be armed with a handgun.
Police said the shooting happened at a home on Biltmore Street, near Cherry Hill and Beech Daly Roads, at around 9:45 p.m. Saturday.
The victim is in critical condition after being shot in the neck; an injury which was nearly fatal, police said. The victim was transported to a local hospital.
The police are now asking the public for any tips that could help them find Williams.
He should be considered armed and dangerous.
"If you would shoot your girlfriend, or family member or relative, you'll shoot anybody," Inkster Police Chief Bill Ratliff said, in an interview with WXYZ. "So I would caution the public not to approach him, not to do anything to try and take him into custody but to call 911, notify law enforcement immediately."
Anyone with information can call the Inkster Police at 313-563-9850. To leave a tip anonymously, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP (1-800-773-2587) or through the link here.
