WARREN (WWJ) -- Four juvenile suspects have been arrested after a deadly crash along the Warren-Detroit border, and a fifth remains on the run.
Investigators said this all started with a short police chase, southbound on Schoenherr Road, at around 2 a.m.
Warren police tried to pull over a Dodge with five juveniles on board, all wearing ski masks.
When the driver sped away, police followed at high speeds, heading southbound on Schoenherr into Detroit.
At 8 Mile Rd., the Dodge crashed into another car that was not involved in the chase.
The driver of that car, a 48-year-old Detroit man, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police said all five of juvenile suspects fled on foot after the crash.
Four of them were found by Warren police officers and were taken into custody.
The fifth suspect remained at large later in the morning.
WWJ's Charlie Langton reports that police believe the five young suspect are responsible for around 15 car thefts in the last 48 hours in Warren and Eastpointe.
No names have been released, and there is no description at this time of fifth suspect.
The investigation is ongoing.
