AUBURN HILLS (WWJ) - An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of a fire at the Stellantis headquarters.
Officials say the fire occurred in a vehicle storage area on Nov. 19 at 9:23 a.m.
The Auburn Hills Fire Department went to the 800 block of Chrysler Drive due to reports of a vehicle on fire inside the Stellantis North America building. AHFD said that “fire personnel arrived on scene to find a working vehicle fire in a vehicle storage area on the first floor of the testing center.”
Firefighters said they found the fire contained by the building’s fire suppression system. They were on scene for about three hours, during which time they put out the remaining fire.
Building security and employees were also on site to help with “smoke removal and removing the vehicle from the building.” The Auburn Hills Police Department and the Rochester Hills Fire Department assisted with securing the scene and extinguishing the fire, respectively. Rochester Hills and Rochester City had fire and EMS coverage for Auburn Hills during the fire, authorities said.
