LANSING (WWJ) — A group of Lansing teens are in trouble with the law after a drive-by shooting and police chase.

The shooting happened around 2 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Dunckel and Jolly Roads, on the city's south side, according to Michigan State Police.

MSP officials did not release any information about the shooting, but WILX reports it happened at a gas station and no one was injured. No other details, including a motive, are known.

Around 8:30 p.m. MSP troopers and Lansing police officers investigating the case were led to the Kensington Meadows Mobile Home Park. While conducting surveillance in the area, they saw five suspects getting into a vehicle.

A traffic stop was initiated and the driver of the suspect vehicle intentionally rammed a semi-marked Lansing police car before fleeing the scene, according to MSP.

After driving a short distance the driver stopped and all five suspects got out and ran away. Police caught four of the suspects a short time later, but one remains at large, as of Wednesday afternoon. Police found three stolen guns in the suspect's car.

Two 18-year-olds from Lansing are being held at the Lansing City Jail and two 16-year-olds from Lansing were taken to the Ingham County Youth Home. The four teens, all from Lansing, are facing weapons charges, as well as resisting and obstructing police charges.

One of the 16-year-olds, identified as the driver, is facing additional charges of felonious assault on a police officer and fleeing and eluding.

While MSP officials said they know the at-large suspect's identity, no details have been released.

No officers were injured during the incident. The investigation into the drive by shooting is continuing.
