
OAKLAND TOWNSHIP (WWJ) A Livonia woman died and three other people were injured in a head-on collision in Oakland Township.
The crash happened on Rochester Road near Beach Drive, in the area of Romeo Road, on Friday, December 27th around 2 p.m.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said an Oakland Township man, 19, was driving a 2011 Ford Edge south on Rochester Road when his car crossed over the centerline “for an unknown reason” and struck a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee head-on.
The driver of the Jeep and his wife, both 62 of Clarkson, were rushed to the hospital by the Oakland Township Fire Department after the crash. The man is listed in stable condition. His wife is in critical condition.
The backseat passenger of the Jeep— a 66-year-old Livonia woman—was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name was not released.
Air Flight Service took the 19-year-old to the hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
Everyone involved in the crash was wearing seatbelts, the sheriff’s office said.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor. The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating.
