(WWJ) — A 14-year-old Macomb County girl is being held at the Macomb County Juvenile Justice Center after allegedly making a school threat earlier this week.
The Clinton Township girl allegedly sent a threatening email to administrators at L'Anse Creuse High School in Harrison Township, where she is a student.
Macomb County Prosecutor Pete Lucido's Office did not release many details about the alleged threat, but he said his office has a "zero tolerance policy" when it comes to school threats.
"This senseless act not only disrupts the lives of students, staff, and the community, but it can have serious, lasting consequences. A single decision made in haste can affect the rest of your life, legally and personally," Lucido said in a press release.
The girl, whose name is not being released, was arraigned in Macomb County Juvenile Court on one count of making a threat of terrorism, a 20-year felony. She was denied bond and ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation.
Her next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 3.
