RAY TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - A woman sustained serious injuries after a man in Macomb County brutally attacked her with a cooking pan and then beat her with his fists in the early morning hours on Saturday, authorities said.
State police said they were called to the residence in the 9600 block of 29 Mile Road in Ray Township just before 1:30 a.m. after a woman called 911 and reported that a male suspect had physically assaulted her.
When troopers arrived on scene, the found the woman had been beaten with a kitchen pan and punched several times.

The male suspect locked himself in a bedroom when he saw police, but troopers were able to gain entry and arrested the man.
Police said the woman was seriously injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.
The man was taken to the Macomb County Jail where his case is pending a prosecutor's review.
No further details regarding the incident have been released by authorities; it remains unclear what the relationship between the suspect and the victims is and what caused the attack.
