WASHINGTON TWP. (WWJ) – A 30-year-old Macomb County man is facing charges for child sexually abusive material after police found dozens of explicit videos in his home.
Christopher Kuhnle, of Washington Township, has been charged with three felony counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and three felony counts of using a computer to commit a crime.
The charges come after several months of investigation by the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office Computer Enforcement Unit (MACE), in coordination with the Michigan Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
Back in May, MACE received multiple tips from NCMEC regarding sexually abusive images of children being sent over social media.
MACE investigators were able to find more than 50 video files of children between 2-13 years old being forced to engage in sexual activities with adult men, women, and each other.
Investigators eventually identified Kuhnle as a suspect and MACE investigators began conducting surveillance on his home, and saw him entering.
Kuhnle was arrested without incident outside his home on Sept. 1 and authorities seized several items as evidence during a search of the home.
He was arraigned on Sept. 2 in the 42-1 District Court in Romeo. Kuhnle was given a $500,000 cash surety bond. He was ordered to have no contact with anyone under the age of 18, no internet use, and must remain 1000 feet from any school.
Kuhnle is due back in court on Oct. 4.
