EASTPOINTE (WWJ) -- A woman accused of spitting on Macomb County police officers last month has pleaded no contest.
While responding to an assault at a gas station in April, St. Clair Shores and Eastpointe police attempted to arrest 35-year-old Shaina Perez before actions escalated.
Police accused her of becoming unruly and spitting on them while trying to get away, reports the Macomb Daily.
Perez was charged with assault and resisting arrest.
Perez's no contest plea is reportedly part of a deal with Macomb County prosecutors to reduce the maximum penalties in her case.
Perez remains jailed on a $50,000 bond.
She's expected to be sentenced on June 16.
