A Madison Heights police officer has minor injuries after she was hit by an SUV.
Officers said the dangerous incident unfolded when they were checking on a man slumped over a steering wheel on 12 Mile Road last night. The driver woke up and started to drive away.
After hitting the four-year veteran officer, the suspect led police on a chase down I-75 that ended near Seven Mile and Conant.
The suspect has been identified as 31-year old Justin Crawford who has a cross tattoo on his left cheek. Anyone with information about Crawford's whereabouts is asked to call Madison Heights police at 248-585-2100.
