
MADISON HEIGHTS (WWJ) Madison Heights Police are investigating the mysterious death of a 5-year-old girl.
In a statement; Madison Heights Police said their officers and the Madison Heights Fire Department responded to a report of a child not breathing on Sunday, November 24th, around 7:49 a.m.—at a home on Hect near John R and 12 Mile.
Upon arrival, first responders found the child not breathing and rushed her to Corewell Health Royal Oak where she died; police said.
A woman who lived at the home was arrested at the scene, and then released pending results of evidence tests. No information was released about her relationship or connection to the little girl.
A cause of the child’s death was not given.
“This was an unfortunate and tragic situation, especially given the approaching holidays. Our thoughts remain with the family and those affected by this incident,” the statement read.
