(WWJ) – A Detroit man accused of an attempted abduction in Troy and a murder in Detroit has been arraigned on a charge of first-degree murder.
Andrew James Hall was arraigned Monday in connection with the stabbing death of 40-year-old Lisa Moffett of Royal Oak.
Detroit police were called to a building on McNichols, just west of Woodward Avenue, shortly before 6 a.m. on July 11, where they found Moffett stabbed to death behind the building.
Authorities said last week they believe Hall met up with Moffett at the location and attacked her. He was arrested in Dearborn later that day and turned over to Detroit police.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said evidence in the case will show Hall is "an extremely dangerous person."
"He allegedly killed the victim in this case for no reason at all, simply because he wanted to," Worthy said, per a press release.
Hall's next court date is scheduled for July 25.
The alleged murder in Detroit came just days after Hall was allegedly seen on surveillance camera in a Target parking lot in Troy, where he allegedly tried to abduct a woman.
Hall is facing a number of charges in Oakland County for that alleged attack, including unlawful imprisonment, assault by strangulation, felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, attempted carjacking, felonious assault, aggravated assault and five counts of felony firearm. He was arraigned on those charges last week.
The Oakland County Prosecutor's Office alleges Hall forced his way into a woman's vehicle in the parking lot of the Target on Coolidge Highway near Maple Road around 9 p.m. on Friday, July 7.
He allegedly punched her in the face and pulled out a gun, but she was able to escape. The victim said in a social media post when he ordered her not to scream and get into the back seat, she refused and instead opted to fight. She was able to get the attention of a nearby witness, who yelled at Hall and chased him out.
Hours after Troy police identified Hall as the suspect last Tuesday, Detroit police also revealed he was the suspect in the murder on McNichols.
