MONROE TWP. (WWJ) — Police have arrested a man suspected in a string of home invasions in Monroe County earlier this month.

Bailey Herrell, 25, was arraigned Thursday on one count of first-degree home invasion and one count of second-degree home invasion.

The charges stem from a string of break-ins at the Meadowbrook Mobile Home Community in Monroe Township on Oct. 8, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities did not specify what, if anything, was taken from the homes.

Detectives eventually identified Herrell as the suspect and learned he was also wanted on several unrelated warrants.

On Oct. 10 investigators learned of Herrell’s location and set up surveillance. When he was seen in the area of Telegraph and Dunbar Roads, deputies pulled him over, but he ran from the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.

Herrell was ultimately arrested on his unrelated warrants on Eastwood Street in the Evergreen Acres Subdivision. He was also charged with resisting and obstructing, as well as carrying a concealed weapon.

The case was turned over to the Monroe County Prosecutor’s Office on Wednesday and he was arraigned the following day. Herrell was given a $50,000 cash/surety bond on each case.

Officials are asking anyone who knows something about the home invasions to call detective Kenneth Dodds at 734-240-7537.
