CHESTERFIELD TWP. (WWJ) -- A 26-year-old man is behind bars in the Macomb County Jail on allegations of child sexual abuse.
Shortly after 6 p.m. last Sunday, officers with the Chesterfield Township Police responded to a home on a call about sexually explicit photos being taken of a child.
Police said an initial investigation revealed that the child was 7 years old, and that the adult allegedly involved lived in the area.
Officers tracked won down the suspect, identified as 26-year-old Shane Michael-Frank Werner, and arrested him without incident.
The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office has since charged Werner with three felony counts: Aggravated Child Sexually Abuse Activity, Aggravated Possession Child Sexually Abusive Material, and Accosting Children for Immoral Purposes.
Werner was arraigned in 42-2 District Court in New Baltimore on Wednesday, and was ordered held on a $100,000 bond.
It's unclear at this time how the suspect knew or had access to the victim. No further information was released.
