DETROIT (WWJ) — Police are asking for help finding a man who allegedly followed a woman and her family from a Detroit gas station and fired shots at their car.
The incident happened on Wednesday, June 19 in the area of Conant and McNichols on the city's east side, according to Detroit police.
The 37-year-old woman and her family were sitting in her car at the Valero gas station on the corner of Conant and McNichols when the suspect and a woman approached their car, DPD officials said.
While they were having a conversation, the man allegedly pulled out a gun, so the victim drove away. The suspect allegedly followed them in a black Jeep to the area of McNichols and Gallagher — about four blocks away — and fired two shots. The suspect then fled the scene.
No injuries were reported.
DPD officials have not released a possible motive in the case and it was not clear why the man pulled the gun.
Officials did not release the ages of the woman's family members who were in the car with her.
Authorities are offering a cash reward of $500 for tips that lead to the suspect's arrest. Anyone who knows something is asked to submit a tip through Detroit Rewards TV.
