TAYLOR (WWJ) Taylor Police are asking parents to be vigilant after a suspicious man approached a child about Pokémon cards at a local Target.
Police said the incident occurred on Saturday, January 24, at the Target on Pardee near Superior. According to authorities; a man approached a 10-year-old child inside the store with another adult, and ultimately asked the child to see the Pokémon cards he had in his car.
The child and the adult walked away and notified authorities.
The man is described to be in his late 20s or early 30s with a short beard, wearing a blue beanie-style hat and a beige hoodie.
Taylor Police said they have "thoroughly investigated the incident" and identified no crime committed.
"However, the Taylor Police Department is sharing this information to raise awareness, help prevent future incidents, and encourage parents and guardians to remain vigilant and aware of interactions involving children in public places," police said in a press release.
Police encouraged parents to talk to their children about stranger-danger, and to report any "suspicious behavior" to authorities.
