COMMERCE TWP. (WWJ) -- A Farmington Hills man has been arraigned on a first-degree, premeditated murder charge in the shooting death of a Commerce Township bar and restaurant manager.

Tonin Pjetri, 65, appeared in court on Thursday, after charges were filed by the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office on Wednesday.

Investigator said the Sunday night shooting at the Prime 7 Bar and Restaurant was the result of a disagreement between Pjetri and the victim, Franco Shkambi, who was found shot on the outdoor patio,

After the shooting, Pjetri drove to the Farmington Hills police department and turned himself in.

“Franco Shkambi’s death is a tragedy, and my sympathies are with his family at this difficult time,” said Prosecutor Karen McDonald. “His killing, which appears to have stemmed from a personal disagreement, is another reminder about the danger that comes with trying to solve problems with a gun.”

Along with the murder charge Pjetri is facing one count of felony firearm.

Reporting from outside the courthouse, WWJ's Darrylin Horne said that during the hearing we learned that Pjetri is a husband and father, and is retired.

Officials have not shared any specifics as to how Pjetri knew Shkambi, or what their disagreement was about.

Pjetri's defense attorney asked the judge to set a reasonable bond, but was denied.

Pjetri was remanded without bond into custody at the Oakland County Jail to await his next court appearance, set for Dec. 3.

If he is convicted on the first degree murder charge, Pjetri will spend the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole.
