TROY (WWJ) -- A Troy man is expected to face charges after police say, in a drunken state, he mistook a stranger's home for his own.
Troy Police said this happened on Monday, March 17, on Kingsley Street, near W. Big Beaver Rd. in Troy.
A little before 9:30 p.m., police said a resident called to report that someone had driven onto their lawn, and was now sitting on their porch.
Officers spoke with the man, identified as a 59-year-old Troy resident, who told them he was on his way home and thought he was at his own house.
Police said the man, who was slurring his speech, refused to participate in sobriety evaluations and would not submit to a breath test.
He was arrested and taken to the Troy Police lockup where police said he was read his Chemical Test rights and refused to take a breath test.
A search warrant to complete the blood draw was prepared and granted, and the man's blood was drawn by medical personnel.
Police said the case was turned over to the Detective Bureau for appropriate warrants once the blood results are returned. The man's name was not released.
