
DETROIT (WWJ) - A man is in custody after police said he headbutted a trooper in the face while intoxicated.
The incident took place at 2 a.m. on Saturday at Greektown Casino in Detroit.
According to a Tweet from the Michigan State Police Second District, troopers assigned to patrol the casino saw a “highly intoxicated” man being carried by two people out of the food and lobby area The group was being escorted by casino security.
The man fell multiple times and security appeared to be having a hard time assisting the man.
The troopers took over and while helping the 25-year-old Durand man to his hotel room, he “intentionally head butted one of the troopers in the face,” the Tweet said.
The man was arrested. He was taken to Detroit Receiving Hospital due to the high level of intoxication. He was taken to the Detroit Detention Center after he was cleared by the hospital.
The case is pending review by the Prosecutor’s Office.
