WEST BLOOMFIELD (WWJ) -- A man is in police custody after allegedly assaulting his mother at a condo in Oakland County's West Bloomfield Thursday night.
Police responded at around 6:50 p.m. to the scene on Brynmawr Court, near 14 Mile Rd. and Orchard Lake, where the woman was outside and said her adult son had hit her.
The man remained inside the condo while police negotiators talked to him on the phone.
After nearly 12 hours, police said the man came out of the condo and was arrested on charges of domestic assault and battery.
The suspect's name and age have not been released pending an arraignment.
